Salty Dreamers is a small, independent jewelry brand from Kiel on the Baltic Sea. In their studio, Fynn and Felize assemble their jewelry by hand: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and anklets with genuine New Zealand paua shell, freshwater pearls, and sea glass, made from waterproof stainless steel or 925 sterling silver. They also offer a necklace that you can design yourself and creative jewelry workshops in Kiel and throughout Northern Germany.
The people behind Salty Dreamers
- Founded in 2021 in Kiel by Fynn Guischard and Felize Hartog. The idea came about after a trip to New Zealand: to create meaningful jewelry that looks like the sea and can also withstand it.

What makes the jewelry special
- Materials: genuine paua shell (also known as abalone or sea ear) from New Zealand, genuine freshwater pearls, genuine sea glass, cowrie shells. Chains made of high-quality stainless steel in silver or with a gold-colored PVD coating, and some pieces made of 925 sterling silver.
- Waterproof and easy to care for: Stainless steel does not rust. An occasional wipe with a clear, damp cloth is all that is needed for cleaning.
- Lightweight and comfortable to wear: Bracelets 14 cm plus a 5 cm extension, necklaces usually 40 cm plus a 5 cm extension, macrame and nylon cords are fully adjustable.
- Meaning: Many paua pieces bear names from the Māori language, such as Moana (ocean), Aroha (love), or Tumanako (hope). The meaning is included in every product description.
- Prices: most bracelets and necklaces are between 30 and 70 euros.
Customizable and designed by you
- Design your own necklace: In the online configurator, you choose the color (gold or silver), chain style, length (40 or 50 cm), and up to three small charms from the sea. - Requests for existing pieces: Different length, clasp, or chain? Just send a short message; we are happy to customize many pieces.
Repairable rather than disposable
- The jewelry is designed so that it can be repaired.
- Free repair service: During the first 12 months after ordering, we will repair any damage, regardless of how it occurred, in addition to the statutory warranty. You only pay the return shipping costs.
Jewelry workshops in Kiel and Northern Germany
- Create your own piece of jewelry together from materials from the sea, in a relaxed atmosphere, with no prior experience required. All tools and materials are provided, and one piece of jewelry is included. Your own beach finds can be brought along.
- Public dates in Kiel (Café Alma) for individuals and small groups, approx. 2.5 hours, around 60 euros per person: View dates
